Microsoft updates Bing logo as it reasserts commitment to search

Bing has updated its logo, changing the "B" to uppercase and switching the color from yellow to teal blue.

Bing was introduced in 2009 and it got a new logo in 2013, the one that some of you guys might still be seeing, but after today, you should expect to see the new one on Bing's website.

The redesign makes it the second time the Bing logo has gotten a face-lift. Microsoft's Ryan Gavin revealed to Neowin last November that a wider branding refresh was on the way, following the introduction of a new version of the Bing app for iPhone.

Microsoft keen on having Bing branding which displays well across a plethora of devices, something the previous iteration didn't according to Rik van der Kooi, Microsoft's corporate vice-president of advertiser and publisher solutions.

The No. 2 search engine also powered devices like Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, most recently adding all of AOL's search engine properties as well.

Microsoft will start rolling the logo out across devices on Thursday, Jan. 14.
