Today's Google logo marks the first day of the year with an animated doodle that transitions from "Google" into "2015″ along with exploding fireworks.
The logo links to a search results page for "New Year 2015″ and includes a sharing icon so users can post the New Year's Day doodle on their social media pages or send via email.
Last year Google had paid tribute to three women on it homepage, with Google doodles honoring author Zora Neale Hurston, Dian Fossey and Harriet Tubman, all by February 1. By the end of the year, the Google Doodle team had created well over a 100 doodles for its U.S. homepage, with more than 60 featured during the month of June to celebrate the 2014 FIFA World Cup matches.
Search Engine Land wishes everyone a happy and healthy New Year – may you be as productive as the Google Doodle team!
